The Staffing Conundrum for Retiring CPAs

Between 2014 and 2017, taxation services were the fastest growing line of service in public practice. However as smaller CPA firms put more of a focus on taxation, they are restricted when it comes to scaling up their practices.

With shifting demographics, a great many CPA practitioners are aging out into retirement – most without a succession plan. Statistics show that most don’t have adequate staffing and, given their revenue profile, probably have very little ‘work-life balance’.

The RMT training program was developed to allow us to provide training primarily for foreign-certified accountants without local knowledge. This will allow smaller CPA firms to take advantage of “just in time” staffing by working with us.

Done well, this can provide an opportunity for practitioners to ease into retirement.
